The Triops Red Longicaudatus is congeneric with the normal one which originates from America Longicaudatus. It has a genetic defect which is why it is an albino version. As far as we know, this species has not yet been sighted in the outdoors. The Red Longicaudatus is a result of aquarium breeding.
The way to keep them are the same as for the normal Longicaudatus. The Red Longi like temperatures from 24th °C upwards and they are just as lively and vibrant as its congeneric mate. The only difference which distinguishes the Red Longicaudatus from a common Longi is its color. The Red Longicaudatus shell is transparent. However, the red blood of Triops lets this specific kind appear red, resulting in the name of the Red Triops Longi.

For rearing, distilled, rainwater or creek water is required. However, by adding a special water conditioner to normal tap water, these use of that is also possible.
