Description
Triops Mauritancius
Native to Spain, this Triops needs rather warm temperatures, which is why a heater is needed in winter. Despite the warmer temperatures and rapid growth, this triop can get very old. Triops Mauritancius was initially described as a subspecies of Triops Cancriformis (because of the similar appearance). In the meantime, however, it has become a species of its own. In addition, Triops Mauritancius is the only Triops species to have a special feature: with increasing age, they form two thorns at the end of the furca that protrude to the left and right, which makes this species very special. So far, this species is still very rarely offered in the trade, as it has few occurrences in nature.Characteristics :
