Triops Cancriformis Tadpole Shrimp Starter Kit
Triops Cancriformis are also called the “European species”. They are considered the oldest still-living species on earth. The Cancriformis find their origin in Bavaria, Germany.
Due to the fact that this Cancriformis originally came from Central Europe, their temperature demands are not as high as those of other Triops-species. Cancriformis is satisfied with temperatures of around 22 °C.
As a result of the low temperatures, Triops Cancriformis grow a bit more slowly than other Triops-species. Nevertheless, it is believed that this extends their life span as compared to other Tadpole Shrimp. In comparison to their shells, they have relatively short tail fin. The tabby pattern on its shell turns this Triops into an optical gem. They are not swimming through the tank as agile and happily as other Triops, but instead they are more quiet Triops which focus on digging in the sand.
This type of Tadpole Shrimp can bury their Triops-cysts into the sand after just about three weeks. Those can then be re-used for breeding another generation. How this works, we show you here: how to prepare Triops-eggs properly
